ABOUT SUPERSITE BUILD

The person who builds it, answers the phone, and fixes it at 11pm.

I've been building websites for Northern Ireland businesses for 20 years, and I'm the only person you'll ever deal with - from the first call to long after launch.

THE SHORT VERSION

Supersite Build is one person, on purpose.

I design the site, write the copy, build it, test it against my completion checklist, launch it, and look after it. When you ring with a question, you're talking to the person who made the thing - not an account manager reading someone else's notes.

That's not a limitation I'm apologising for. It's the product.

THE IT BACKGROUND

The bit most web designers don't have.

Alongside building websites, I've worked as an IT professional. [Placeholder: add one specific sentence about real roles, industries or systems here.]

That background matters more than it sounds, because a website never exists on its own. It sits on hosting, behind a domain, next to business email, wrapped in security, feeding analytics. Most small businesses have those pieces scattered across accounts nobody remembers opening - the domain's with GoDaddy from 2011, the email's half-migrated to Microsoft, and a previous designer still controls something important.

The whole setup considered

When I build your site, I look at all of it. You end up owning and controlling every important piece - not renting them from me or anyone else.

WHAT WEBSITES ARE FOR NOW

Search is changing faster than websites are.

Generative engines now answer the questions that used to send people to business websites, which means the site built purely to attract search traffic is a shrinking asset.

The site that survives is the one that does real work: taking the booking, holding the catalogue, producing the quote, cutting the admin. My job is to build that kind - fast, findable, and genuinely useful - so AI tools have something worth recommending, and customers have something worth using.

The old website was built to be looked at. The ones I build are built to be used.

HOW I WORK

A few working principles, stated plainly.

Fixed prices, in writing.

The number in the proposal is the number on the invoice. Anything outside scope gets quoted before the work, never after.

Plain English.

You'll never need to translate what I've told you. If I can't explain a decision simply, I haven't finished thinking about it.

Measured, not promised.

Every site is tested against Core Web Vitals before launch and you get the scores in writing. Numbers, not adjectives.

No lock-in - deliberately.

Your site runs on WordPress with documented, commercially supported tools. Any competent developer could take it over tomorrow. You stay because the work is good, not because you're trapped.

Still here after launch.

Websites aren't finished on launch day. [Placeholder: link this to the Website Care page or section when it is published.] My Website Care plans keep your site updated, backed up, monitored and improving - looked after daily by the person who built it.

OUTSIDE THE WORK

Outside the work

I’m based in Northern Ireland and I like working with owner-run businesses because the work is direct: you can see what matters, make decisions quickly, and build something useful without layers of meetings.
