Pest control website design

Turn panic searches into qualified pest control enquiries

Your customers don’t browse. They hear scratching in the loft at 11pm, search “pest control near me”, and ring the first company that looks like it will answer. Your website’s job is to be that company — and to hand you an enquiry with the photos, the postcode and the problem already attached.

I build websites for pest control businesses across the UK and Ireland that identify the likely pest, gather the evidence, flag genuine emergencies and open a separate route for the commercial contracts that pay every month.

01 · Domestic

Capture the enquiry that arrives frightened and half-informed

A pest control website should qualify urgent enquiries — pest type, photos, postcode, urgency — then promise a fast callback, not an empty form.

Think about the calls you take. Someone has found droppings under the sink. They don’t know if it’s rats or mice. They can’t tell you how long it’s been there. You spend ten minutes on the phone asking the same questions you asked the last caller — while you’re up a ladder at another job.

Every site I build replaces the blank contact form with a guided enquiry process. Your customer answers a short set of questions, uploads photos, enters their postcode and marks whether it’s urgent.

You get an enquiry you can price and prioritise before you ring back. They get an immediate confirmation and a callback promise you set yourself and can actually keep.

What I deliberately don’t build: an open online booking calendar. Your schedule runs on grouping jobs by area. The site captures and qualifies; you stay in control of the diary. A fixed-price wasp nest treatment can carry direct booking where it suits your operation.

And the phone number stays at the top of every page. A form should never stand between a frightened customer and your mobile.

02 · Commercial

Win the contracts that pay you every month

Commercial pest control buyers need evidence before they enquire: insurance, memberships, documentation and audit readiness — packaged and ready to send.

A restaurant owner, landlord or facilities manager doesn’t buy in a panic. They buy on evidence. Before they’ll fill in a form, they want to know you carry the right insurance, hold the right memberships, understand their audit requirements and produce documentation their inspectors will accept.

I build a dedicated commercial route: credentials presented as an organised evidence pack, followed by a survey request form that asks what a contract quote actually needs — premises type, number of sites, sector, current contract status, visit frequency and compliance requirements.

That’s a stronger lead than “please call to discuss” — and it’s the route to recurring work that steadies your year.

03 · The functional summary

Do six jobs before you ever answer the phone

A working pest control website shows the right service, qualifies the problem, collects photos and postcodes, routes each lead, and measures results.

Show the right service fast.

Someone searching for bed bug treatment lands on your bed bug page, not a general list.

?

Qualify the problem.

Ask what they’ve seen, where, how long it has been there and what is affected.

Accept useful evidence.

Photos of the pest, droppings, nest, damage or entry point arrive attached.

Confirm the location.

A postcode check keeps your time focused on jobs inside your coverage area.

Route it properly.

Domestic emergencies, surveys and contract enquiries take different paths.

Measure what matters.

Track calls, forms and key actions so the site improves on evidence.

Built for urgent searches on a phone

Most pest-control enquiries start on a phone, often when the customer is stressed and short on time. The website needs to load quickly, keep the call route obvious and make enquiry forms easy to complete on a small screen. Responsive layouts, compressed media and practical performance checks support that journey without adding visual clutter.

04 · Seasonal

Match your website to the season — without paying for updates

Pest demand rotates: wasps in summer, rodents in autumn and winter, ants in spring. Your homepage should lead with the current pest automatically.

I build your homepage on a rotating seasonal system: the leading pest, photo, opening message and featured guides change automatically on dates you set, with a simple manual override when the weather shifts the season early or late.

Your service pages stay live year-round. The rotation changes emphasis, not availability.

SPRING

Ants & nesting birds

SUMMER

AUTUMN

WINTER

05 · Search & AI

Answer the questions customers now ask AI — and be the business it points to

AI can describe the signs of a pest problem. It cannot inspect a property. Structured pest guides make your business the answer’s next step.

I build your pest guides as a structured library, marked up so search engines and AI answer engines can read, cite and attribute them. Each guide covers the signs people notice, what the pest is commonly confused with, where it is normally found and when professional treatment is needed.

The guide earns the attention. The enquiry process turns it into a job. Send photos. Check the area. Request a callback.

CUSTOMER ASKS

“What do rat droppings look like?”

A clear guide answers the question and explains what it may be confused with.

THE INSPECTION LINE

“Can someone inspect my loft this week?”

That is where information becomes an enquiry — and where a real local business must take over.

06 · The boundary

Know where your website stops and your field software starts

Your website captures and qualifies work. Visit reports, bait maps and audit trails belong in your field-service software — I build the handover, not a copy.

If you run software for visit reports, bait plans and client records, your website’s job is to feed it good enquiries — not imitate it badly. I build the marketing and enquiry side to hand off cleanly to however you run your operations.

Your website

Services, pest guides, coverage checks, photo uploads, enquiry qualification, commercial survey requests and conversion tracking.

Your field software

Technician schedules, visit reports, bait maps, audit trails, contract records and day-to-day service delivery.

07 · Experience

Built from experience, not from a pest control template

I built a pest control website four years ago that still generates enquiries today. This service is built from that experience, not picked from a list.

The site I built around four years ago is still that business’s main source of enquiries today, and it has shown me how this work really arrives: urgent domestic problems, uncertain identification, seasonal swings and the occasional commercial opportunity worth far more than the form it came through.

Every site is scoped around the individual business — your pests, your patch, your qualifications and the work you want more of.

08 · Process

From enquiry review to handover

My web design process is kept straightforward. I confirm with you what the website needs to do, how enquiries should be divided and which services, coverage areas and commercial evidence need to be presented. I then confirm the scope and delivery schedule in writing before the build starts.

1. Review and scope

I review the current website, the work you want more of, the areas you cover and the questions you repeatedly ask before accepting a job.

2. Structure and build

I map the service pages, pest guides and enquiry routes, then build the website around domestic urgency, commercial evidence and the way you actually organise work.

3. Review, test and launch

You review the agreed build before launch. I complete more than 60 checks across the website, including the important enquiry, tracking, mobile and performance routes. Once everything is ready, the website is launched and handed over with ownership and ongoing care arrangements explained clearly.

09 · Pricing

Pay a published price, not a mystery quote

A pest control website costs £1,495 to build, with hosting and care from £14.99 a month. The scope and delivery schedule are agreed in writing before work starts.

FIXED BUILD

£1,495

Guided enquiry process, commercial route and evidence pack, seasonal homepage, pest guide library, call and form tracking, and more than 60 checks before launch.

Managed · £14.99/month

Everything in Managed, plus content changes when you need them.

Care + SEO · £44.99/month

One routine domestic job covers a month or two of Care + SEO. One modest commercial contract can cover the year.

Questions pest control businesses ask me

Straight answers before you book

Can customers book a visit online?

Not through an open calendar by default. You get qualified enquiries and a callback promise you control. A predictable fixed-price job like a wasp nest treatment can carry direct booking where it genuinely suits your operation.

Can customers upload photographs?

Yes. Photos of pests, droppings, nests, damage or entry points arrive with the enquiry. They help you assess and price the job; the site never promises a diagnosis from an image alone.

Will this work if I’m a one-van operation?

It is built for you. Enquiries arrive qualified, photographed and postcode-sorted, so you can group them into rounds and ring back between jobs.

Domestic customers, commercial customers, or both?

Both, with a separate route for each. The balance is set around your business: domestic-led, commercial-led or equal weight.

I already get work from Facebook. Why do I need this?

Search reaches the person with droppings in their kitchen right now who has never heard of you. You own the page they land on and the enquiry route that follows.

Do you work with competing pest-control businesses?

I work with multiple businesses in the same industry. Every site gets its own positioning, copy and build; no client’s private information, figures or strategy is reused.

Can you redesign an existing pest control website?

Yes — starting from what already works. Existing rankings, useful content and enquiry routes are assets to protect. Read about website redesigns →

Will the website replace my pest-management software?

No. The website handles marketing and enquiry qualification. Technician schedules, records, bait maps, reports and contracts stay in the systems built for them.

What happens if I want to leave?

You take everything. The domain is yours, the site is portable to any competent WordPress developer, and nothing expires because I am no longer involved.
